Can Hamsters Eat Cucumber?

Hamsters should love cucumber, but it really does depend on the individual hamster. Only give a small amount to your hamster at first, this is to figure out if they like cucumber.

• Dehydration – The amount of water in cucumber can lead to diarrhea, which can lead to dehydration if overfed!
• Obesity – Too much of anything could cause obesity in your hamster
• Nutritional issues – Hamsters need a balanced diet, too much cucumber means that they won’t have enough room for anything else!
• Choking – Make sure to cut the pieces small enough to avoid choking.

The amount of cucumber that you can feed your furry friend really does depend on their breed. Syrians are larger, and can, therefore, eat more, whilst Robos and Dwarfs cannot eat as much.

• Give your Syrian Hamster around 2 inches of cucumber every other day.
• Give your Robo hamster around an inch of cucumber every other day.
• Give Dwarf hamsters, including Chinese, Campbell, and Russian hamsters around an inch of cucumber every week.

You can’t feed your hamster cucumber juice, but you can feed them the seeds and skin.

You just need to make sure that you feed it in the right amounts. Make sure that you served the cucumber after washing it. This will ensure that your furry friend is safe and healthy after eating cucumber.
